Avian Nutrition

Science is always changing and it is important to stay up-to-date on what is considered a healthy diet for your bird. The goal is to offer a balanced and varied nutritional diet. We recommend feeding a diet consisting mostly of fresh vegetables, fruits, grains, and sprouted seeds, supplemented with a high quality pellet. Dry seed mixes are high in fat and when fed as a staple diet, can often lead to health problems, including heart disease, fatty liver disease, and feather destructive behavior. Below are some helpful resources and what to feed your bird in order to keep them happy and healthy.
