PEARL is an all volunteer run organization.  Our volunteers are constantly on the move, whether they are picking up parrots and donations, setting up tables and chairs for our events, or representing PEARL in the community.  We could not do what we do for birds without the tireless dedication of our volunteers and foster families.

PEARL is a foster-based organization and we do not have a facility. All of our birds are in private homes, and because of this, we do not have many opportunities for our volunteers to work with birds. If you are interested in working with birds directly, we encourage you to consider fostering.

Outside of fostering, we mostly rely on our volunteers for community outreach - attending events, facilitating fundraisers and helping to spread awareness of PEARL's mission.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply (Those under the age of 18 are welcome to volunteer with a parent or guardian);

  • Sign and consent to all volunteer agreements and releases; and

  • Complete at least 20 hours of service within a 12-month period in order to be considered an active volunteer and be able to participate in some of the benefits!

Once your application has been reviewed, one of our volunteer coordinators will reach out to you regarding available opportunities and events. Please note that we require all of our volunteers to attend our educational programming at some point, however, due to timing and demand, you may be able to start participating in events or other opportunities prior to attending the classes.
