Gonzo and Mr. Roper were so close to finding their forever home this week. A very nice family came to visit them twice this week but in the end their gut was telling them it wasn't a good fit for their family. I can't explain how much I respect that decision. Owning a parrot is not a spur of the moment decision. They took their time, came to visit twice, and in the end made a good choice. I am perfectly happy continuing to work with and foster these guys as they are great birds, and I am glad this family made an informed choice. I only wish more people standing in front of a beautiful parrot in a pet store would take the time to make informed choices instead of impulse shopping for a bird with a lifespan measured in decades.
